Lifting Injuries
Pain While Lifting?
- Are Nagging Aches and Pains Holding You Back from Lifting as Heavy or as Hard as You'd Like?
- Are You Avoiding Certain Lifts Due to Pain?
- Do You Want to Seek Help, But Are Afraid That Your Doc Will Tell You to Stop Lifting?
- Doctors do X-rays and give injections
- Traditional PT's hand out banded exercises and stretches...
- Massage therapists help with pain temporarily, but it always seems to come back
- Rest isn't an option, but even when you do take time off, it just starts hurting when you start lifting again
The Truth Is...
- Resting it doesn’t change anything. You might get a small temporary relief, but then when you get active again, you’ll still be suffering from pain (I bet you’ve already experienced it!)
- Injections are just a short-term bandaid that doesn't fix the root cause of the issue
- Banded exercises aren't near difficult enough to create the tissue changes needed for you to get back to lifting at your maximum ability.
- Living off bottles of ibuprofen is not your only option
At Peak Pursuit Performance and Rehab, We Help Active Adults And Athletes Get Back To The Workouts And Sports They Enjoy Without Surgery, Stopping Activities They Love, Or Relying On Pain Medicine.
- A family member tells you to try a certain stretch
- A colleague mentions going to a massage therapist
- The “experts” on YouTube recommend doing a certain exercise
- A friend suggests going to a yoga class
- All while the doctor tells you to rest
It’s overwhelming to try to make a decision with all these choices… what will happen if you don’t make the right one?
Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.
Why We Work With Lifters and Barbell Athletes?
All of our therapists have a background in lifting, with bachelor degrees in exercise science. Some of them were college athletes, while others turned to lifting after their careers in team sports were completed. Our therapists know what a huge role resistance training can play in your life. In fact, they pride themselves in bridging the gap between physical therapy and strength & conditioning.. Whether you are a CrossFit athlete struggling with shoulder pain, a powerlifter with low back pain, or just casual gym rat suffering from hip or knee pain, our therapists will help build out a plan to get you back in the gym lifting without pain or restriction.
Our Process
Phase 1: Tell Us Your Story
Here’s your chance to tell us what’s going on. Our staff will take a deep dive into your injury history and training regimen.
We want to hear all about when your injury occurred, how it has effected your life, and what your goals for therapy and lifting are moving forward.
Phase 2: Get Some Clarity
Our staff will help explain what is going on, they why (root cause) behind your injury, and how to incorporate rehab into your regimen without taking you out of the gym.
They will help explain different loading principles to help target specific tissues that may be involved in your injury
Phase 3: Resolve Your Pain and Build Up Resiliency
Together, you and your therapist will come up with a plan to heal, while maintaining strength and building up the resiliency of your muscles, tendons, and joints.
They will show you how to incorporate certain exercises into your warm up and training regimen in order to prevent these issues from popping up in the future.
At Peak Pursuit Performance and Rehab we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.
Step #1 - We Want To Listen To Your Story
Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”
Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.
This is why our first step is to listen to your story.
After working with lots of people with Lifting pain, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.
That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life.
Step #2 - Find Out WHY The Pain With Lifting Started
Many people have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their doctor gave it to them, maybe tests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.
You could have been told that your only choice was to rest, take painkillers, or start thinking about surgery.
Sometimes, those things bring temporary relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.
Every person’s cause of lifting pain is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.
Our goal at Peak Pursuit Performance and Rehab is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY!
During your first assessment, you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!
Step #3 - Get Rid Of The Pain & Keep It From Coming Back
This is when the big transformation occurs. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…
…Get back to Lifting without fear of the pain coming back.
…Hit new PR’s.
…Learn new techniques to improve your form and strength.
Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active lifestyle. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)
Want to know more about our availability and costs before making any commitment to coming in?
You don’t have to sacrifice the active lifestyle you love over problems that can be fixed.
Sincerely,

“Peak Pursuit Performance and Rehab is amazing. I followed them on Instagram for a long time and enjoyed the content they put out. After my climbing accident, it was a no brainer who I was going to turn to. I live across the country from there facility but that did not stop Drake from providing me the very best physical therapy. Drake made virtual rehab a breeze. He always answered my questions much faster then I would have expected.
I would suggest Peak Pursuit to anyone. I can not say enough good things about them. Thank you Peak Pursuit Performance and Rehab.”
